During his recent trip to China, Niko Phillips, Group Director - International, was invited to a business dinner to explore areas of collaboration. Niko met with Professor Guohong Yun, President of Inner Mongolian University (the leading institute in the autonomous region for teacher training, sports, arts, language and more), and Professor Zhang Haifeng, Vice President of the University. Together, they discussed areas for collaboration around teacher development, curriculum development, and the development of sports (especially football) in the region.
This meeting comes after Activate Learning welcomed a senior delegation from the Education Ministry of Inner Mongolia in autumn 2017 when Activate Learning CEO Sally Dicketts signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Inner Mongolian Education Minister in Oxford.
Niko presented Activate Learning's Learning Philosophy and Attributes Framework and described our approach to teaching football in the UK. The president and vice president were very taken with our unique approach to learner development and our holistic approach to football training, taking in grass roots and professional stakeholders to build a sustainable ecosystem for sports training.
