Record store donation creates brighter learning environment

IT students at City of Oxford College are getting some musical inspiration, following a donation of posters from a local record store.

The posters, covering music genres from folk to classic rock, were donated to IT teacher, Iain Cartmel by the team at Rapture Witney.

The students were delighted to receive the boxes of posters and enjoyed looking through them and finding iconic posters of their favourite bands including, Green Day, Pixies and PJ Harvey.

Rapture Witney, a well established independent record store, kindly donated the posters after a conversation with Iain who is a regular customer and big music fan.

Iain said: “The IT and music teams here at City of Oxford College work very closely together. Quite often we see students progressing from one department to another, for example an IT student may wish to go on to study digital audio and our departments have built a strong relationship to ensure that our students are on the right path to their chosen careers. I was so pleased to be able to pass on the posters and to see how much the students and staff appreciated them. Rapture in Witney went above and beyond, they were very generous.”
